Partner Engagement
UX Design Program Partnership Opportunity
At Hack the Gap, we’re making a deeper commitment to expanding and diversifying the number of people entering technology-driven companies. We’re excited to offer a UX Design program as part of our work.
About the program:
We’re partnering with Ramsey County Workforce Development to support a group of women in becoming certified in UX Design this summer. During this training, they will learn the foundational skills of UX design– such as user experience research, various design processes and technical skills like creating wireframes with Figma and Adobe XD.
Ways to engage:
We would like to engage local employers for this initiative. Your organization can become involved in this work through mentorship or offering a summer work experience.
Mentors:
We’re looking for UX mentors who can support our program participants. This is a two month commitment of upto two (2) hours a week from the week of June 13th to mid August. Mentors will meet at least once a week with a participant, share insight and feedback on their work. Mentors will receive a nominal stipend . Please fill out this form and we’ll follow up within 1-2 business days.
Work Experience:
We’re looking for employees who can host our participants for UX Design work experience. Participants will be paid by Ramsey County for 25 hours for 8 weeks (ideally from July - September). The goal of the work experience is for participants to build experience through on the job training. Ideally, we want to partner with companies who are open to hiring for entry level UX designer positions but that is not a must.
