What is UX Design?
The user experience (UX) is how a user interacts with and experiences a product, system or service. It includes a person's perceptions of utility, ease of use, and efficiency. UX design is the process design teams use to create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users.

Follow the design process, empathize with users, define pain points, ideate solutions, create wireframes and prototypes, test and iterate on designs.

Apply foundational UX concepts, like user-centered design, accessibility, and equity-focused design

The basics of UX research
Understand the basics of UX research, like planning research studies, conducting interviews and usability studies, and synthesizing research results.

Create a UX portfolio
Create a professional UX portfolio that includes 3 end-to-end projects: a mobile app, a responsive website, and a cross-platform experience.
UX Design Program
In shaping our UX Design Training and Apprenticeship Program, our passion lies in ensuring that tech training is accessible to everyone. This program goes beyond just skills and tools; it's a commitment to empowering the next generation of UX designers to excel in this dynamic field. This all-encompassing program provides participants with knowledge in user-centered design, the components of accessible design, and practical experience through hands-on activities and real-world challenges.
Our Spring 2025 UX Design with Digital Marketing program application is now OPEN!
Dates: Training starting in February 10th - May 30th, 2025. Work experience begins June 2025 to August 2025
Time Commitment: Mondays through Thursdays, 9am-2pm, for 30-40 hours a week, including class time and personal work time on assignments.
Location: These courses will take place via Zoom. Please note that this is a hybrid program and will require meeting in-person in Saint Paul once a week.
Cost: Free for eligible participants - this cohort is funded through the Learn and Earn Program
