About Hack the Gap: Learn and Earn
The Learn and Earn program and an opportunity to grow your tech skills through our tech training program and apply those skills during an internship opportunity. Participants will receive stipends during the program.
This opportunity is for young adults, ages 18-30 to develop new and existing technical skills through real projects and get access to career development opportunities.

User Experience Design
The user experience (UX) is how a user interacts with and experiences a product, system or service. It includes a person's perceptions of utility, ease of use, and efficiency. UX design is the process design teams use to create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users.

Data Analyst

Project Management
With Architectural Technologies Track
Project Management will teach you how to effectively coordinate projects for companies of all sizes. Through a combination of skills training and hands-on practice, you’ll learn how to plan, organize, and run projects so they can be delivered on time and on budget.
This program is paired with learning how to utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, a sophisticated digital tool used in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries to create detailed 3D models of buildings and infrastructure projects.

Frontend Development
Frontend Development focuses on creating user-friendly interfaces for software applications. Developers in this field use languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design and implement visual elements. Frontend Development is a crucial part of software development, enhancing how users interact with applications.

Our Program Model:
Hack The Gap is focused on addressing the gender gap in tech and getting more women in tech enabled roles. Earn and Learn is a paid learning program for those looking to gain skills as UX/UI designers. This training opportunity will be focused on providing young adults with the required skills, certifications and credentials to enter or continue on a pathway into tech. We will pair our participants with paid projects, skills coaching, and professional mentorship while providing clients with amazing products.
Program Overview:
The program consists of two parts. The first part is the tech training. This will be a 3 to 4 month program during which participants will acquire the skills necessary to start their careers in tech (exact timing depends on program). During the program, we will meet online Monday to Friday for three hours each day (please refer to each program page for exact times). In the morning, participants will go through the content with the instructors. In the afternoon, participants will work on group projects and have time to receive one-on-on assistance and guidance. The commitment during this time will range from 20 to 30 hours a week.
The second part of the program is a paid hybrid work experience. Participants will work about 15 to 20 hours a week. We’ll also dedicate this time to personal and professional development resources.

Our upcoming cohort timeline:
User Experience Design with Digital Marketing dates: Training starts from February 10th - May 30th, 2025. Classes run Mondays through Thursdays, 9am-2pm, for 30-40 hours a week (including class time and personal work time on assignments)
Project Management with Architectural Technologies dates: Training starts from February 10th - May 30th, 2025. Classes run Mondays through Thursdays, 9am-2pm, for 30-40 hours a week (including class time and personal work time on assignments)

What if I don’t have a computer? Hack the Gap will loan you a computer for the duration of the program
If I’m not a Ramsey county resident, can I still apply? At this time, only Ramsey county residents will be eligible for the stipends tied to this program. Please apply for our other programs which can be found here.
